Online casino services are prohibited from being offered to people in Australia under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. ACMA named Vegas Now in a website-blocking action on 11 December 2025, and VegasNow or Just Entertainment B.V. does not appear on the Australian licensed-provider register. Separately, VegasNow states that it is operated by Just Entertainment B.V. under Curaçao Gaming Authority licence OGL/2024/164/0246.

Those facts describe different regulatory layers. A Curaçao licence shows offshore licensing, but it does not amount to Australian authorisation. The Australian rules are primarily directed at providers and services, so this page does not turn ACMA’s enforcement position into a blanket claim that an individual Australian commits an offence simply by visiting or using the site.

Australian law

What the Interactive Gambling Act says about online casino services

Australia regulates interactive gambling at the federal level through the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. ACMA is the federal regulator responsible for enforcing those rules. The legislation distinguishes between different kinds of gambling services rather than treating all online betting products as one category.

Online casino-style services are a prohibited interactive gambling category when offered to people physically present in Australia. By contrast, some online wagering services can operate within the Australian framework when they hold the required state or territory licence and appear in the federal licensed-provider register.

That distinction is important when reading the word “licensed” on an offshore casino website. An operator can hold a licence issued by another jurisdiction and still lack the authorisation required to offer a service in Australia. The licence answers the question “which regulator licences this operator?”; it does not automatically answer “is this service authorised for Australian customers?”

For the official Australian framework, see ACMA’s Interactive Gambling Act guidance.

ACMA timeline

Vegas Now was named in an ACMA blocking action in December 2025

On 11 December 2025, ACMA published a notice saying it had asked Australian internet service providers to block a further group of illegal online gambling websites after investigations found the services were operating in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. Vegas Now appeared in that list alongside other named services.

Website blocking is one of ACMA’s disruption tools. It is not the same as granting or revoking a foreign licence. The measure is designed to make access from Australian internet connections more difficult after ACMA identifies a service as breaching the federal interactive-gambling rules.

ACMA’s December 2025 notice also warned consumers that services operating outside the Australian licensing framework may not provide the consumer protections associated with licensed Australian wagering providers. The relevant source is ACMA’s 11 December 2025 blocking notice.

Enforcement record

ACMA also recorded a formal warning linked to Vegas Now

ACMA’s enforcement report for October to December 2025 records a formal warning to Dama N.V. in relation to Vegas Now and Rooster Bet for providing prohibited and unlicensed regulated interactive gambling services. ACMA later published the formal-warning entry in January 2026.

This is part of the Australian enforcement history connected with the Vegas Now name. It should not be confused with the current operator information shown on the VegasNow website, which identifies Just Entertainment B.V. as the operator.

Current operator

VegasNow currently identifies Just Entertainment B.V.

The current VegasNow site states that it is operated by Just Entertainment B.V., company number 160603. The Curaçao Gaming Authority certificate for a VegasNow secondary domain also identifies Just Entertainment B.V. and shows licence OGL/2024/164/0246 as active.

That current operator record and the earlier Australian enforcement record are separate facts. A change in operator information does not erase ACMA’s historical action, and the historical action should not be rewritten as if it were necessarily directed at the operator currently named on the site.

Curaçao licence

What licence OGL/2024/164/0246 establishes – and what it does not

The Curaçao Gaming Authority certificate states that VegasNow-related domain vegasnow446.com is operated by Just Entertainment B.V., company number 160603, under licence OGL/2024/164/0246. The certificate records the licence as active and says the domain functions as a secondary domain for vegasnow.com.

This establishes an offshore licensing relationship under Curaçao’s gambling framework. It does not establish that VegasNow appears in Australia’s licensed interactive wagering register, and it does not override Australia’s federal restrictions on prohibited online casino services.

For a reader assessing regulatory status, the two questions should therefore stay separate: whether the operator holds a valid licence somewhere, and whether the service is authorised for the Australian market. VegasNow states that it holds a Curaçao licence, while the Australian register does not list it as an Australian-licensed provider.

The current certificate can be checked through the Curaçao Gaming Authority certificate portal.

Australian register

VegasNow does not appear on the Australian licensed-provider register

ACMA maintains the register used to identify interactive wagering providers licensed to operate in Australia. The register does not list VegasNow or Just Entertainment B.V.

Absence from the Australian register does not mean VegasNow has no licence anywhere. VegasNow states that it holds a Curaçao Gaming Authority licence. That offshore licence is separate from Australian authorisation and should not be described as an Australian casino licence.

This also explains why a foreign licence badge should not be treated as a shortcut for Australian regulatory status. For Australia, the relevant question is whether the service fits the Australian permitted category and is licensed within the Australian system.

Player-side interpretation

Provider prohibition does not justify a blanket claim about player criminality

The federal provisions discussed above focus on the provision of prohibited or unlicensed interactive gambling services with an Australian customer link. That is why ACMA’s public enforcement material is directed at service providers, blocking, warnings and related compliance tools.

This page therefore does not state that every Australian individual who accesses an offshore casino commits an offence merely by doing so. That would be a different legal conclusion and is not established by the provider-side facts used here. The practical consumer risk is instead that a service outside the Australian licensing system may not give users the same local protections or regulatory recourse as an Australian-licensed wagering provider.

Readers who need advice about their own legal position should use an appropriately qualified Australian legal adviser rather than treating a casino review as personal legal advice.

BetStop

BetStop does not extend consumer protection to offshore prohibited casino services

BetStop is Australia’s National Self-Exclusion Register for online and phone wagering providers licensed in Australia. Its own terms state that it covers licensed Australian wagering providers and does not cover online services that are not licensed in Australia.

That means BetStop should not be described as if it blocks or regulates VegasNow simply because the service is accessible online. BetStop is tied to the licensed Australian wagering system, while online casino services operating outside that framework sit in a different regulatory category.

If self-exclusion from Australian-licensed wagering is relevant to you, the official information is available from BetStop. For offshore casino access, do not assume BetStop provides the same coverage.

2026 reforms

Most new federal gambling reforms start on 1 January 2027

Australia passed the Interactive Gambling Amendment (Gambling Reform) Act 2026 in August 2026. The legislation received Royal Assent on 26 August 2026. Most of its substantive schedules commence on 1 January 2027.

The reform package includes tighter wagering-advertising restrictions, stronger disruption measures against illegal gambling services, changes to BetStop and other consumer-protection measures. These reforms are relevant because they strengthen the enforcement environment around online gambling, but they do not turn offshore online casino services into Australian-licensed products.

For date-sensitive status, the government’s Gambling Reforms 2026 page and the Federal Register of Legislation provide the current commencement information.

Money and account risk

Regulatory status affects the protection around payment disputes

When a service is outside the Australian licensing system, an Australian user should not assume that local wagering-regulator protections apply in the same way. That does not prove a particular withdrawal will fail, but it changes the regulatory route available if a dispute develops.

Before depositing, read the current cashier and withdrawal rules rather than relying on the presence of a foreign licence badge. The VegasNow payment methods page covers the practical payment structure, while the dedicated complaint page examines documented payout issues separately.

Identity checks

KYC is a separate operational issue from licensing

VegasNow states that withdrawals are processed only after account verification and that additional information may be requested. Those account checks are part of the operator’s withdrawal process, not proof of Australian authorisation.

If you are comparing account risk, keep regulatory status and verification requirements separate. The VegasNow KYC explains the account process without assuming a universal document list or processing time.

Reading licence claims

Three questions prevent the most common regulatory confusion

  1. Who currently operates the site? VegasNow currently identifies Just Entertainment B.V.
  2. Which authority licenses that operator? VegasNow states that its current licence is from the Curaçao Gaming Authority.
  3. Is that the same as Australian authorisation? No. VegasNow does not appear on the Australian licensed-provider register, and ACMA has named Vegas Now in enforcement and blocking material.

Keeping those questions separate avoids two opposite errors: saying an offshore licence is meaningless, or saying an offshore licence automatically makes the service authorised in Australia. Neither conclusion follows from the regulatory information above.

Further complaint context

Regulatory status should be considered separately from payout complaints

ACMA status tells you about the Australian regulatory framework and enforcement history. It does not, by itself, prove whether an individual withdrawal complaint is valid, resolved or representative of the broader service.

For that reason, complaints should be assessed separately. The VegasNow payout complaints page examines withdrawal complaints and the checks needed before drawing conclusions from them.

For the wider product overview, see the VegasNow Australia review.

Regulatory takeaway

What ACMA status means when assessing VegasNow in Australia

VegasNow should not be presented as an Australian-licensed online casino. ACMA named Vegas Now in a December 2025 blocking action, VegasNow does not appear on the Australian licensed-provider register, and Australia’s federal framework prohibits providers from offering online casino services to people in Australia.

At the same time, VegasNow’s current operator information and the Curaçao Gaming Authority certificate support a separate fact: Just Entertainment B.V. holds Curaçao licence OGL/2024/164/0246 for the VegasNow-related domain identified by the certificate. That foreign licence does not supply Australian authorisation.

For Australian readers, the most useful interpretation is therefore a layered one: offshore licensing exists, VegasNow does not appear on the Australian licensed-provider register, ACMA has taken enforcement and blocking action connected with Vegas Now, and Australian consumer-protection tools such as BetStop are built around the licensed Australian wagering system rather than offshore prohibited casino services.
